Fibroid embolisation - Is it always a good technique?

New techniques require substantial and correct indications to allow establishment.

Some good techniques like myoma embolisation could be very dangerous if doctors applying it, don’t know what happens in the organ they have embolisated.

They live necrotic tissue in the body which in some cases can cause a chronic infection with all consequences like chronic peritonitis (ADHESIONS !!!).

Picture 1: Embolised fibrotic uterus (maybe too big for embolisation ???)

Picture 2: Morcellated uterus after a partial hysterectomy (please note the necrotic areas = arrows)

Picture 3: Some of the area of the fibrotic uterus with necrosis after a partial hysterectomy
